La heroína de Madrid o Clorinda y Mustafá es obra inédita hasta ahora, escrita entre 1822 y 1827 por Basilio Sebastián Castellanos de Losada. Su temprana fecha de composición permite considerarla una de las primeras novelas históricas del Romanticismo hispano, cosa que la convierte en pieza importante de la historia de la literatura española. Se ha conservado en un manuscrito de la Biblioteca Nacional Española, lo cual no ha facilitado su correcta apreciación por los especialistas. La presente edición, anotada y contextualizada, pone pues el texto por primera vez a disposición del lector.

En quoi la traduction participe-t-elle à la création d’une œuvre dite «originale» ? Le roman LARVA. Babel de una noche de San Juan (1984) de l’écrivain espagnol Julián Ríos permet de penser les implications poétiques de la traduction dans la fiction. Dans ce roman plurilingue, qui agrège autour de l’espagnol plusieurs dizaines de langues, la traduction s’impose comme une pratique manipulatrice et comme un mode de composition à part entière, au point de devenir un puissant symbole qui reflète et nourrit le travail de l’écrivain.

For example, the various oppositional movements against the policies of Emperor Joseph II (1780-1790), described as enlightened despotism, have until now been viewed largely as unconnected phenomena that had no need for comparison.

Het schetst een herkenbaar verhaal over toenemende migratie, sociale polarisatie en het afschermen van verworven rechten.  Het boek buigt zich over een waaier aan grote en kleine steden van het graafschap Vlaanderen. Elke stad ging zo op haar eigen manier om met de sociale spanningen en maatschappelijke veranderingen in de twaalfde en dertiende eeuw. Het burgerschap was hierin een belangrijk instrument.

The Middle Dutch term schaec referred to abduction with marital intent. This book explores this phenomenon to understand wider attitudes towards marriage-making in the fifteenth-century Low Countries. Whilst exchanging words of consent was all that was required legally, making marriage was a social process that evoked public concern and familial scrutiny. Abductions embodied contrasting evaluations of what mattered when selecting a spouse and resulted in polarized trials in which narratives on consent, coercion, and family strategy coincided and competed.
